Our Friday Night Beginner Volleyball league wrapped up an exciting season at Clarke Dominguez Gym, with the top four teams earning a spot in the playoffs after several weeks of competitive matches. As the postseason began, #1 Catnip, #2 Anything But Net, #3 Notorious D.I.G., and #4 Holy Blockamole 4.0 all had their sights set on bringing home the championship.
The semifinals delivered plenty of action as top seeded Catnip continued their strong season with a straight set victory over #4 Holy Blockamole 4.0, earning the first spot in the finals. On the other side of the bracket, #2 Anything But Net and #3 Notorious D.I.G. battled through the night's only three set match. Notorious D.I.G. put up a great fight, but Anything But Net held their composure when it mattered most, punching their ticket to the championship match.
The finals featured a showdown between the league's top two seeds, making for a fitting conclusion to a fantastic season. Both sets were tightly contested from start to finish, but Anything But Net found another gear in the biggest moments. They edged out Catnip 21-19 in the opening set before closing out the championship with a 21-17 victory in the second, completing an impressive playoff run and capturing the league title.
