The Return of SPAM (Open Div.)

Congratulations to "The Return of SPAM" on becoming the Open Division Champions!

“The Return of SPAM” are the Friday Soccer Open Division Champions of the Fall ‘21 season, after defeating “Flamigos” 8-6

“The Return of SPAM” came into the playoffs as the #1 seed and as the favorite to take home the title. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. The championship started off very evenly matched, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. Midway through the first half, the “Flamigos” scored an impressive goal to take and early lead. “Flamigos” kept putting pressure on “The Return of SPAM’s” defense, but “The Return of SPAM’s” defense stayed strong and did not allow them to score again in the first half. Before the first half ended, “The Return of SPAM” scored two impressive goals of their own to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. It was anyone's game after the first half and neither team was backing down. “Flamigos” came out on fire in the second half and scored three goals to take a commanding 4-2 lead. It looked like all hope was lost for “The Return of SPAM”, but they were able to score two miraculous goals at the end of the game to tie it up and force penalty kicks! Both teams scored their first two penalty kicks, and it looked like neither goalie would be able to stop anyone from scoring. But that all changed when the goalie for “The Return of SPAM” stepped up and made two beautiful saves to win the championship!

Congratulations to “The Return of SPAM” on becoming the Friday Open Division Soccer Champions and winner of $50 to Blue Cue!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
