Thursday night’s bowling matchup between Split or Swallow and the Pinheads turned into one of the closest battles of the week. Both teams traded big moments throughout the night, but in the end Split or Swallow managed to hold on for a narrow 8–7 victory, proving every frame mattered in this tightly contested showdown.
Split or Swallow came out strong in the opening game and set the tone early. Led by Ian’s impressive 202, the team stacked up strong individual scores including Brianna’s 183 and Marc’s 156. Even though the Pinheads stayed competitive behind Steve’s 168, Split or Swallow’s depth helped them secure the total pins 652–580 and take the first game 4–1.
Game two tightened things up considerably as both teams battled for every point. Damien led Split or Swallow with a 178, while Brianna added 132 to help keep things steady. On the other side, the Pinheads responded with a balanced effort of their own, including Steve’s 152 and Scott’s 158. Split or Swallow still managed to edge the total pins 566–557, allowing them to take the game 3–2 and build a small cushion heading into the final frame.
The Pinheads made things interesting in game three with their strongest performance of the night. Despite another standout showing from Ian, who rolled the highest game of the match with a 215, the Pinheads rallied behind strong games from Skor (195), Des (176), and Steve (165). That surge helped the Pinheads win the total pins 663–587 and take the game 4–1, putting serious pressure on Split or Swallow late in the match.
When the final scores were tallied, Split or Swallow’s early lead proved just enough to hang on. The match ended with a razor-thin 8–7 victory, showing just how evenly matched these two teams were throughout the night.
Several strong performances stood out across the matchup. Ian’s 215 was the highest score of the night, while his 202 earlier in the match helped fuel Split or Swallow’s early momentum. Skor’s 195 and Des’s 176 highlighted the Pinheads’ late surge, while Steve consistently kept his team competitive across all three games.
In the end, Split or Swallow’s strong start and clutch scoring in the first two games made the difference, allowing them to survive the Pinheads’ comeback attempt and walk away with a hard-fought Thursday night victory. 🎳
