"Para Los Ninos" is our latest Wednesday Soccer champion following a fantastic season. Their 6-1-1 overall record topped the league by a large margin, with second place going to "FC Amigos".
The two teams squared off for the championship game after going 1-1 versus each other through the regular season. "Para Los Ninos", with their excellent regular season, was expected to win, but that didn't mean it would come easy.
For "Para Los Ninos" their greatest strength was their defense, allowing a league low 14 goals, including the championship. It was the biggest reason for their incredible +14 goal differential. For comparison, no other team in the league was in the positives."FC Amigos" was the next closest with a differential of -1.
That would come into play in the championship game, after "Para Los Ninos" found themselves down 2-1 after the first half. In the second half they tightened it up on the back end while the offense was able to tally two goals, thus taking the title. Overall a great season for "Para Los Ninos", capped by a 3-2 championship game win. Congratulations!
