Ten teams battled it out this season in our Friday Beginner Volleyball league, but only the top five earned a spot in the playoffs and there was plenty of action before we crowned our champs!
The night kicked off with #4 Clock It taking on #5 Biggy Balls for the final spot in the semifinals. Biggy Balls came ready to shake up the bracket, pulling off the 2–1 upset and advancing to face the top seed.
Their run would end there, though, as #1 Just Get It Over showed exactly why they finished at the top of the standings. They swept Biggy Balls 2–0 to punch their ticket to the championship.
On the other side of the bracket, #2 Unprotected Sets had their hands full with #3 Your Friday Night Date. The match went the distance, but Unprotected Sets came away with the 2–1 victory and a spot in the finals.
That set up a championship showdown between the top two seeds, Just Get It Over vs. Unprotected Sets. 👀🔥
Just Get It Over wasted no time, taking the opening set 21–13. Unprotected Sets weren't about to hand over the trophy that easily, though. Set two turned into a battle that went beyond regulation, with neither team willing to let the season end.
In the end, Just Get It Over found those final two points, taking the set 23–21 and completing the 2–0 championship sweep! 🏆
From a 10-team field to the #1 seed to league champions, Just Get It Over officially got it over and got themselves a championship while they were at it. 🏐
