When the dust settled on Wednesday night's Ultimate Frisbee season, it was the #1 seed Phoong Around and Find Out standing alone at the top! Facing off against the #2 seeded Banana Hammers in Position Week with the championship on the line, Phoong Around and Find Out capped off a spectacular season with a commanding 13-6 victory to claim the title.
From the very first week, Phoong Around and Find Out set the tone for the league. They opened the season with a 12-5 win over Sacramento Unathletics and never looked back, rattling off victories over every team in the league, including Banana Hammers twice. Their closest contest came in Week 3 when the two top teams first met, but even then Phoong Around and Find Out pulled away for a convincing 14-7 win. By championship night, they once again proved why they were the team to beat.
The numbers tell an incredible story. Phoong Around and Find Out finished the season undefeated at 8-0, outscoring their opponents by an astonishing 56 point differential. They averaged nearly 13 points per game while consistently shutting down opposing offenses, putting together one of the most dominant Ultimate Frisbee seasons we've seen. Every week they found new contributors stepping up, and their chemistry, athleticism, and unselfish play made them a nightmare matchup from start to finish.
A huge shoutout also goes to Banana Hammers, who put together an outstanding season of their own to earn the #2 seed. They battled through a competitive schedule and finished with an impressive record, earning their spot in the championship matchup. Congratulations as well to Bailee N, who earned Player of the Game honors in the title clinching victory!
