Cooking Up a Championship: Line Cooks Win Thursday Night!

The Thursday night Party Pickleball playoffs at Twin Oaks Park brought the top five teams together for a battle in Rocklin, with every matchup played in the always chaotic best of 9 format. When the paddles were down and the scores were final, it was the #1 seeded Line Cooks who lived up to their name and cooked the competition on their way to a championship finish.

The night began with the quarterfinals, where the #4 seeded Team D and #5 seeded Something Awesome went toe to toe in a tightly contested opener. Something Awesome pulled off the upset in dramatic fashion, edging Team D 4-3 to advance into the semifinals. There, they faced the regular season leaders in Line Cooks, who proved why they held the top spot all season. Line Cooks controlled the semifinal matchup and earned a convincing 6-3 win to move on to the title match. On the other side of the bracket, #2 seeded Team B advanced past #3 seeded C is for Cookie by forfeit, securing their place in the championship showdown.

That set the stage for a battle between the top two seeds, and the finals did not disappoint. Team B pushed the pace and made the Line Cooks earn every point, but the top seed stayed composed in the biggest moments to grind out a narrow 5-4 championship victory. With a clutch performance in the finals and two postseason wins on the night, the #1 seeded Line Cooks officially claimed the Thursday night Party Pickleball crown.

Congrats to all teams on a fun and competitive season, and hats off to Line Cooks for bringing the heat when it mattered most! 🏆🥒

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
