The Monday Party Pickleball playoffs at Elks Lodge #6 delivered two weeks of chaos, laughs, and one incredible underdog run. Using the best-of-9 format with three games happening at once, teams battled through every point knowing momentum could swing in an instant. In the quarterfinals, the #5 seed Twerkin’ Gherkins pulled off the first surprise of the bracket, edging out #4 seed Dink Around & Find Out in a thrilling 5-4 showdown. Meanwhile, #2 seed The Slice is Right dominated #7 seed Baby Got Backhand by an 8-1 score, while #3 seed Effers handled #6 seed The Big Dill by a solid 6-3 margin.
When the semifinals rolled around, the Gherkins proved their quarterfinal win was no fluke. Facing the top seeded Carpe Dink’em, the #5 seed pulled off the upset of the night with a huge 6-3 victory to punch their ticket to the finals. On the other side, #3 seed Effers were on fire, taking down #2 seed The Slice is Right by a convincing 7-2 score to set up a championship clash between two lower seeds.
In the finals, it was a battle to the very last match. Twerkin’ Gherkins and Effers traded wins throughout the series, but the #5 seed found one more clutch performance when it mattered most, escaping with a razor thin 5-4 championship victory. From quarterfinal underdogs to league champions, Twerkin’ Gherkins completed one of the best Cinderella runs of the season and danced their way to the Party Pickleball crown. 🏆🥒
