Big Dig Battles, Bloodline Prevails!

Sunday Intermediate Volleyball brought the heat at Clarke Dominguez Gym as the playoffs delivered back to back three set battles. The biggest storyline of the day came early, as the 4-seed Bloodline Baddies pulled off a major upset against the 1-seed Horizon in the semifinals. After splitting the first two sets (21–18, 18–21), Bloodline took control in the decisive third set, closing it out 15–8 to punch their ticket to the championship.

On the other side of the bracket, the 2-seed Big Dig Energy outlasted the 3-seed Hard Hitters in another tight three set showdown. Big Dig took the loss 21–18, won the second 21-11, but regrouped in the third to secure a 15–12 victory and advance to the finals.

The championship match did not disappoint. Bloodline Baddies came out strong, dominating the first set 21–12. Big Dig Energy responded with a 21–16 win in the second to force a winner take all third set. In one of the most thrilling finishes of the season, Bloodline edged out Big Dig 20–18 to complete their underdog run and claim the Sunday Intermediate title as the 4-seed.

An incredible day of competitive, balanced volleyball from start to finish... exactly what Sunday Intermediate is all about. 🏆

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
