Oh my Gosh, Oh Balls! Are Bocce Champions

Our Spring 2015 Wednesday Bocce Ball league wrapped up last night with 8 seasoned teams eager and ready to make a run at the championship.

The action got underway with 2 massive upsets in the first round. Top seeded Joanie Loves Bocce was toppled by #8 seed Boccelism and the #2 seed Bocce Ballers were trounced by the #7 seed Tap That. Thus the stage was set for an exciting an unpredictable night of Bocce action. In the end however only two teams remained to face off in our championship match.

"The final showdown started right before 9pm, as the lights came on for the finale between Deboccery and Oh, Balls! Each team stepped up for Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide the court -- an advantage to Deboccery, as they won and chose to stay on the court they had been playing on all night.

Oh, Balls! showed their mettle not only by playing on the course that they weren't familiar with, but showing a great score difference right out the gate -- Oh, Balls! scored 2 or 3 for each single point from Deboccery.

But Deboccery wouldn't give up, finding unique ways to dodge land obstacles to get closer and nudge right up against the Pallino. As the score narrowed to 13 to 4, Oh, Balls! put the final touches on a solid win, capturing the championship and a $50 tab at Old Ironsides! Congratulations to Oh, Balls for a truly competitive spirit!"

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
