Bruce Bocce Wins Championship In a Thriller!

Our Spring 2015 Sunday Brunch and Bocce Ball league wrapped up yesterday with the leagues top 5 teams putting their best foot forward and tossing their balls and hearts out in pursuit of the ultimate glory of taking home the league Championship and a $50 tab at Hot Italian!

The action got underway with an exciting opening round match between the #4 seed "Mission Imboccible" and the #5 seed "Boccesaurus Rex" with the latter eventually prevailing 15-13. In our first semi-final, #2 seed "Bruce Bocce" survived a tough fight from #3 seed "Deboccery" winning by a 3 point margin 15-12 and securing their spot in the finals. Our second semi-final was a forfeit victory for Boccesaurus Rex.

Thus our final was set between an unlikely pairing, #2 seed Bruce Bocce and #5 seed Boccesaurus Rex. When the teams met earlier in the season Bruce Bocce came away with a 15-10 win, but playing with the championship on the line is a different story altogether and whichever team seized the moment would be victorious.

It was clear from the outset of the game that both teams were evenly matched. Trading points throughout the contest, neither team could get a clear advantage over the other. Finally, with the game on the line Bruce Bocce made a couple of clutch tosses to seal the deal and claim the season Championship in heart pounding fashion 15-13.

Congratulations to Bruce Bocce and to all of the teams that competed in the Bocce Ball season.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
