It's #skwaaaa All Day Long

Our Summer 2015 Downtown Kickball division wrapped up last night with a super sensational single elimination playoff between the leagues top 4 teams.

The action got underway with the leagues top team "#skwaaaa" taking on the live underdogs "Drinking With a Kicking Problem". The game was a low scoring defensive affair as both teams struggled to find holes in the defense. In the end #skwaaaa came through with just enough timely kicks to move on to the finals by a score of 3-1.Meanwhile in our second semi-final "Freeballers" held "Friendship to Frienship" scoreless en route to a mild upset 4-0.

Thus our championship game was set between #skwaaaa and Freeballers. The crowd was pumped, the players were focused and the stakes were high. When the two squads met earlier in the season it was #skwaaaa that walked away with a 2-1 win. On this day however #skwaaaa displayed a greater level of teamwork and consistency defeating their foes by a score of 4-0.

Congratulations to #skwaaaa and to all of the teams that competed in a great kickball season.

Alcobalics Drink in Celebration

Our Summer 2015 Wednesday Kickball season wrapped up last night as Alcoballics, Midtown's first place team, cemented their place in the championship game with a dominant 8-1 win vs. the Natural Born Kickers in the semi-finals and secured the home team advantage against the always spirited Knucks to the Nuts.

Although Alcoballics was in nearly last place in the previous season, they came back with the same team and a winning attitude. They scored 3 runs in the first two innings, putting the score at 3-0 at the bottom of the second. Knucks to the Nuts kept playing hard as their pitcher made an incredible play at first to get the third out in the bottom of the third. Knucks to the Nuts kept up their spirit but couldn't seem to stop the Alcoballics momentum. With another 2 runs in the 4th inning this was looking like a shut out at 5-0 in the bottom of the 4th. Knucks scored their first run in the top of the fifth ending Alcoballics chance for a shutout game, invigorating the team with a sense of hope for the future. Alcoballics responded with a 4 run inning and narrowed the chance of a comeback to slim and none. With no runs in the top of the sixth from Knucks to the Nuts the game ended at 9-1.

Congratulations to Alcoballics who came from the bottom to the top with great attitudes and a winning spirit.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
