It's Smooth Sailing for SMUth Sets

Our Spring 2015 Bumper Volleyball season wrapped up last night with a special best out of 5 game championship between the leagues two top teams.

The top seed "SMUth Sets" entered the final with only one defeat on the season, however that lone defeat came at the hands of their opponent "Spiiike".
We expected a close competitive match in the finals and we weren't disappointed as the championship game was intense!

SMUth Sets decided to wear crazy socks for their last battle, and it sure seemed to give them that something extra. SMUth Sets dominated most of the action, while Spiiike was constantly fighting their way back in to the game by matching SMUth Sets intensity. SMUth Sets claimed the first two games with ease, but the third and possible deciding game was the longest in the season. In the 3rd game, with their season on the line Spiiike finally woke up and they came back refusing to give up. For 15 minutes the teams went back in forth with points scored. The audience was getting hyped. Every time SMUth served, Spiiiike answered back with a lucky scramble to save the point. While SMUth had great defense, Spiiike's offense was on point. Their serving kept them in the game until finally a couple of net touches doomed Spiiike to lose to the ever exuberant SMUth Sets. The ending was pretty anticlimactic and both teams seemed to want to play more. However, as we left the gym, both teams were planning to head to celebrate at the bar together.

SMUth Sets won the championship, but we think both teams "gained new friends".

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
