Floppy Discs Stand Firm

Our Winter 2015 Super Social Ultimate league wrapped up last night. The top ranked "Floppy Discs" entered play needing a win or a tie to guarantee their rightful place atop our season standings, but the upstart "A Team" stood in their way.

The game was a true tale of David and Goliath. The A Team, consisting of mostly of first time players, gave our eventual champs The Floppy Discs a fight on the road to ultimate victory. Floppy Discs had smooth plays and clear transitions, and dominated the first half.

Despite the score being 5-0, The A Team was not discouraged. After regrouping during half time, The A Team was able to score 2 points. The A Team followed up with several interceptions during some well planned plays but alas, Floppy Discs was too good and repeatedly knocked the Frisbee out of their grasps and cemented their spot on top of the winner's pedestal.

Congratulations to Floppy Discs and to all of the teams that competed in a great season.

Whiskey Disc Siezes the Championship By a Razor Thin Margin

Our Winter 2015 Social Ultimate league came to a dramatic conclusion last night as the top two teams in the league were matched against one another in a winner take all match.

It was apparent from the outset that Whiskey Disc and Frisbee Shades of Grey were evenly matched, as they both marched on the field with confidence. Whiskey Disc had several quick plays while Frisbee Shades of Grey used a solid short pass, stretching their defense the entirety of the field. Frisbee Shades of Grey missed several close catches at the goal line and the Whiskey Disc defense proved to be strong.

Both teams were playing so intensely that a member of Whiskey Disc was accidentally swatted in the face with the Frisbee during a fake out from Frisbee Shades of Grey. However, this incident did not stop the game and resulted in Frisbee Shades of Grey scoring.

With only 15 minutes left in the 2nd half, Frisbee Shades of Grey was getting frustrated due of a string of failed attempts at the goal line. With 5 minutes left on the clock, there was a small scuffle at the Frisbee Shades of Grey goal line as a player from both teams caught the Frisbee at the same time. It was a very close game but Whiskey Disc maintained a small edge over Frisbee Shades of Grey and got the win, with a 9-8 score.

While the grey team felt they should have won, everyone gave each other a high five and vowed to beat each other next season!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
