Team Siracha Scorches The Competition

Our Winter 2015 Wednesday Cornhole league finished with a bang last night. 10 teams entered the night of playoff action, 2 prevailed -- and those two were Team Sriracha and Sacks on the Beach, the Top Two Seeds!
Miranda and Jon had played, just the two of them, for the whole season, and Team Sriracha had four players all thirsty for wins. It was a great showdown that pushed to all five games...

In the first match, Jillie & Danielle faced off against Miranda & Jon. Jon and Miranda started off the game with a few singles on the board, but Danielle rolled in the first Cornhole of the match. Miranda pulls ahead by sliding in two bags, but Jon and Danielle were a match for each other -- each time one got a cornhole, the other would answer and wash out the points! Sacks on the Beach stayed ahead to win the first game, as Jon made three cornholes on the last round. Sacks lead 1-0.

Second match saw Danielle & Nick facing off against Miranda & Jon, and Danielle was on fire with three cornholes to start in the first round! A lot of blocking and crowding the hole in this match, but even as Nick and Danielle would block Miranda and Jon would roll in. The game stayed CLOSE as the score was only 1 or 2 points difference...in the last round, Sacks end the match with Miranda making 1 in...blocks......and then backspins her bag into the hole! Sacks lead 2-0!

The 3rd, 4th and 5th games were the ultimate showdown of Jillie & Nick versus Miranda & Jon...Sacks got the first cornhole with Miranda in after the hole was crowded, and as Jon slid two bags in on the next round, Nick got robbed as his bag hangs on the side of the hole. Nick and Jon were epic as Nick made 3 cornholes, but Jon kept canceling! Although Sacks were ahead by a cornhole or two the whole match, Nick and Jillie ended it with two rounds, back to back, double cornholes. Sriracha pulls ahead and wins! Sacks lead 2-1. The 4th match was quick work, as Jillie and Nick remained on fire -- cornhole after cornhole, the score only widened as Jillie and Nick ended the match 21-11 Sriracha. THE CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE TIED UP.

The 5th match was an amazing one, as Sacks looked primed to win. Miranda in twice, Jillie answered; Jon fell in, Nick knocked one in; a lot of crowding the hole, as the score widened 13-6 Sacks...an epic round, where Jon and Nick both made 3 cornholes to completely cancel the hard work of the other...Nick managed to tie up the match, 15-15, and as Miranda blocked the hole on the board...crowded the hole with single points...Jillie got in...Jillie hanged her second bag on the hole...Miranda knocked Jillie's bag in and snipes her own off the board for Team Sriracha to win it all, 3-2!

Congratulations to Team Sriracha and to all of the teams that played in a great cornhole season.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
