“Swamp Donkeys” are the Friday Downtown Softball Champions of the Fall ‘24 season, after defeating “The Hit Squad” 9-5!
It was the playoffs for Friday softball last night and it did not disappoint! Both “The Swamp Donkeys” and “The Hit Squad” have an impressive offense, so everyone was ready for the fireworks and that’s exactly what they got. “Swamp Donkeys” took an early lead in the championship with some impressive hits, great base running and brilliant coaching. “Swamp Donkeys” were oozing with confidence after their offensive explosion to start the championship, but “The Hit Squad” were ready for the challenge and were not afraid of an uphill battle. “The Hit Squad” were able to score a few runs of their own and played their hearts out, but they could not stop the “Swamp Donkeys” powerful offense. “Swamp Donkeys” went on to win the championship 9-5 and proved they’re the best team in their division!

“Wolf Pack” are the Friday Midtown Softball Champions of the Fall ‘24 season, after defeating “Los Tóxicos” 9-7!
"Wolf Pack" entered the playoffs as one of the heavy favorites to take home the title. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. “Wolf Pack” came out in the first inning and hit the ball like professionals. It looked like “Wolf Pack’s” offense was going to be unstoppable but “Los Tóxicos” made a couple miraculous plays on defense to hold off their hot start to the championship. “Wolf Pack” also played lock down defense all game long and only allowed “Los Tóxicos” to score a few runs the entire game. It was a defensive battle for most of the championship but “Wolf Pack” was able to score four more runs in the last couple of innings to take a commanding lead. “Los Tóxicos” played their hearts out but “Wolf Pack’s” offense proved to be too strong and won the championship 9-7!
