In Scoring Posiiton Wins Back-to-Back Championships

We bid farewell to our Fall 2014 Tuesday softball league last night as the highly anticipated showdown between the leagues two best teams, "In Scoring Position" and "Bangarang" came to fruition.

"In Scoring Position" handed "Bangarang" their two lone defeats of the regular season and "Bangarang" had a measure of revenge on their mind as they entered the contest. At stake for "In Scoring Position" was an undefeated season and a chance at an elusive back-to-back championship.

"In Scoring Position" took an early 1-0 lead, but "Bangarang" answered right back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 2nd to re-claim the lead. In the 3rd inning "In Scoring Position" responded with a run, tying up the score at 2 runs a piece. Back and forth it went as "Bangarang" quickly re-claimed the lead scoring an additional 2 runs and taking a 4-2 lead at the end of the 3rd inning. The 5th inning saw "In Scoring Position" rally with 5 runs and holding "Bangarang" to only 1 run reclaiming the lead 7-5. In the final inning "In Scoring Position" added 1 extra run, while "Bangarang" kept fighting and kept things exciting answering back with a run and getting runners on 1st and second. "In Scoring Position's" defense was able to ultimately preserve the lead with a final score of 8-6.

Congratulations to "In Scoring Position" and to all of the teams that competed in a great softball season.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
