Team Kick-a-Rita Pitches a Shutout

Our Summer 2014 Tuesday Kickball league wrapped up last night with an eagerly awaited championship match between the leagues top two teams. Team Kick-a-Rita, a savvy veteran team who knows how to win when the chips are down, and finished the season with a 6-2 record took on the undefeated and talented squad of Pitch, Who do you Love.

The two teams met earlier in the season with Pitch, Who do you Love earning a hard fought 2-1 victory. Spectators were treated to another low scoring well played game in the finals.

The first inning and a half went by in a flash, three up, three down. In the bottom of the second a sacrifice fly brought in a run for Team Kick-a-Rita. A stellar double play by Pitch, Who do you Love in the third maintained the one run deficit. In the bottom of the fourth Ryan on Team Kick-a-Rita blasted a two run homer in what proved to be the final scoring play of the game. A strong pitching performance and rock solid defense held Pitch, Who do you Love without a run for the remainder of the game.

Congratulations to Team Kick-a-Rita and to all of the teams that competed in a great kickball season.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
