“Smokin’ Aces” are the Intermediate Volleyball Champions of the Late Summer ‘21 season, after defeating “Churned Butter” 2-1!
“Smokin’ Aces” entered the final week of the season as the heavy favorites to win the championship. They were the #1 seed and it looked like no one would be able to stop them, but “Churned Butter” was not going down without a fight. “Churned Butter” came out on fire in the first game and were determined to take home the championship. It was neck and neck for most of the match, but “Churned Butter” was able to pull away and win 21-18. After a quick timeout, “Smokin’ Aces” came out sizzling and won the second set 23-21. The first two games were nail biters, and everyone thought the third game was going to be the same. But “Smokin’ Aces” turned up the heat and held onto the lead for most of the final set. It was very close, but “Smokin’ Aces” could not be cooled down and won the last game 21-17 and became the champions of intermediate volleyball!
