Snake-Bitten

The "Silver Snakes" are our Thursday soccer champion, taking down the formidable "Team Iceland" in a 1-0 nail-biter. Far and away the two best teams this season, a third match for the championship was always in the cards.

The low-scoring affair versus "Team Iceland" was to be expected, as the two regular season matchups between the teams ended had a grand total of 3 goals. Each team won once, with "Silver Snakes" winning 2-0 just last week. No doubt the win helped give them a mental boost going into the championship game.

Oddly enough, their title game win was a complete 180 from their first round game, a high-scoring 5-3 affair over "United". That can be expected though against a "United" squad who likes to play a bit fast and loose at times.

Overall "Silver Snakes" finishes as the top team, with a nearly perfect 9-1 record to go along with their league-leading +29 goal differential. Their big rival, "Team Iceland", ended just behind them at +26. At every turn, "Silver Snakes" bested them. Congratulations to "Silver Snakes" on the title, adding another championship to their names!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
