Santas 'Sleigh' the Competition

The "Bad Santas" are our Fall Kick-Back Kickball Tournament following another strong showing by these tourney veterans. They had their fair share of close games on Saturday, but thanks to their incredible defense were able to take home some more hardware!

The "Bad Santas" started off the day with a strong 6-1 win over "Zissou Society" followed by a narrow 1-0 win over "Eat Me!" to win their pool and gain a first round bye for our playoff bracket. In Division B it was "UCD GSM" who won both of their games against "RMC" and the "A-Team", earning themselves the bye as well.

We fast-forward to the semi-finals where the "Bad Santas" faced off with "Zissou Society" one more time, this time winning 3-1 and securing a spot in the finals. The same couldn't be said about "UCD GSM", who lost to the "A-Team" in a tight 4-3 game. The win for the indy squad "A-Team" meant they were on to the finals after back-to-back playoff wins. Entering the game on a mini hot-streak, they certainly had a shot to win it.

In the finals the defense for "Bad Santas" once again showed why they were the team to beat, shutting out the "A-Team" 2-0. For a while it looked as if extras innings would be needed, but a couple of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning led to their eventual championship win.

Congrats to "Bad Santas" on the tournament championship, showing everyone that defense wins champions after allowing just two runs throughout the day. Couple that with 12 total runs and they had the recipe for another title!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 3 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points.

In case of a tie in Ranking Points, the following stats are used:
Head to Head, then Points (Runs) Allowed, then Points Differential, then record against Common Opponents.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
