"Unprotected Sacs" are our Wednesday Cornhole League winners after a thrilling championship game that went the distance. Overall they would end the season with a nearly perfect 9-0-1 record.
In order to get there they had to take on "4 Bags, 1 Hole" who won their first game of the night in a hotly contested 3-2 win. Despite the big win, "4 Bags, 1 Hole" was no match for the league's top team, with "Unprotected Sacs" winning the game 3-1 and advancing to the final.
In the other half of the bracket "Corndogs" quickly dispatched of "4 Bangers" in a 3-0 sweep in the second round, punching their ticket to the final.
It was a matchup between heavyweights with the top two teams through the season going head to head. "Corndogs", fresh of their dominant win, took a commanding 2-0 lead and it looked as if the title was theirs. But, "Unprotected Sacks" found their 'A' game and came roaring back to win the next two games, forcing a fifth game. In the fifth game "Unprotected Sacks" rode the wave of momentum they gained from their last two wins and was able to pick up the reverse sweep. With that win, it was "Unprotected Sacks" who were crowned champions of the league.
Congrats to "Unprotected Sacks" on a crazy comeback as they have been crowned the new champions!
