Sweeping Up the Competition

"Sweep the Leg" is our Wednesday Kickball Downtown Division champion after an utterly dominant performance this season. That was capped off by an even more dominant postseason where they won each game, including the championship, by 10 runs.

Over the course of the season "Sweep the Leg" went undefeated, finishing with a 9-0-1 record on the season. Their only blemish, a tie, was against the last place team in their division "Fresh Prince of Ball Air."

But unlike in that tie "Sweep the Leg" brought their 'A' game Wednesday night. In their first game of the night against "Golden $howers" "Sweep the Leg" won 11-1 by showcasing their top-flight offense.

On the other side of the bracket we had the #2 seeded "Side Sac" taking on the #3 "Friendship to Friendship." Earlier in the season "Friendship to Friendship" won a tightly contested matchup between the two teams by the score of 8-7.

This time the game was not as close as "Friendship to Friendship" won 9-3 as their offense was out in full effect after getting out to a great start. Couple that with a few errors by "Side Sac" and just like that "Friendship to Friendship" was on to the championship game.

In the championship game, which some expected to be a shootout, there was only one team doing all the scoring, and that was "Sweep the Leg." True to their name they got plenty of chances to sweep the leg, and it all started with a quick two runs in the first inning. Throughout the game they would continue to build upon their lead. After all was said and done "Sweep the Leg" was crowned champions, winning by the final score of 10-0.

Congrats to "Sweep the Leg" on a supreme display of top-notch kickball throughout the season and the playoffs. We look forward to seeing them try and defend their title in the fall!

"Ballieve" and You Sha'll Receive...Championship Hoodies

"Don't Stop Ballieving" is our Wednesday Kickball Midtown Division champion after two great wins in the playoffs. Throughout the night their big kickers were launching the ball, and as a result a majority of their runs came by home runs. That didn't take away from their defense either though, as 3rd baseman Eric showed off his cannon across the diamond with plenty of great putouts.

They entered the night as the #1 seed, but saw themselves in a tough first matchup versus "Scorgasm". "Don't Stop Ballieving" ended up winning 6-2, but the game was pretty close for a while. But, midway through the game, they broke the game wide open.

The other game in the Midtown bracket between "I'm Kick James Pitch" and "Ball Me Maybe" was a nail-biter from start to finish. Going into the last inning it was a 1-1 game, but "I'm Kick James Pitch" was able to score in the final inning to seal the deal with a 2-1 win.

In the championship game "Don't Stop Ballieving" started off strong with a 4-run first inning, and from there they never looked back. "I'm Kick James Pitch" was able to pick up a couple of runs here and there to slowly close the gap, but unfortunately for them it was not enough. Even in the bottom of the seventh with the game on the line, "Don't Stop Ballieving" proved why they were the deserved winners by sealing the game with a 1-2-3 inning.

Congrats to "Don't Stop Ballieving" for a fantastic championship run, and we look forward to seeing if they can defend their title next season!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
