Beginner Volleyball playoffs wrapped up on October 29 at Mather Sports Center, with four teams competing for the championship title. The top four seeds took the court for an exciting night of semifinal action, with each team looking to finish the season on top.
In the first semifinal, No. 1 seed Horns Down showed why they earned the top spot in the standings, sweeping No. 4 seed Super Smash Beaus in a 2-0 victory to advance to the championship. The second semifinal featured No. 3 seed Louise’s taking on No. 2 seed 2 Volley 2 Llama. Louise’s came ready to compete, earning a 2-0 win and punching their ticket to the finals.
The championship matchup featured No. 1 seed Horns Down against No. 3 seed Louise’s in a battle for the Beginner Volleyball crown. Horns Down came out firing, taking the opening set 21-8. However, Louise’s responded with determination, bouncing back to take the second set 21-17 and force a deciding third set. With the championship on the line, Louise’s kept the momentum rolling, closing out the match with a 21-14 victory to complete the comeback and claim the title!
Congratulations to Louise’s, your Beginner Volleyball Champions! After entering the playoffs as the No. 3 seed, Louise’s put together an impressive postseason run, knocking off the No. 2 seed before taking down the top seeded Horns Down in a thrilling three set championship.
