Thursday night softball in Rocklin came down to the top four seeds, and the semifinals delivered plenty of action. #1 Pitch Please found themselves in an absolute battle with #4 Somethin' Dirty, escaping with an 8–7 victory to punch their ticket to the championship. On the other side of the bracket, #2 The Leftovers took care of business against #3 Mitt Fits, putting up 11 runs in an 11–4 win to advance to the finals.
That set up a championship showdown between the top two seeds, but The Leftovers weren't interested in making this one nearly as close. After scoring 11 in their semifinal, their offense somehow found another gear against Pitch Please. The Leftovers exploded for 14 runs, while holding the #1 seed to just four, cruising to a decisive 14–4 championship victory. 🔥
It was an impressive playoff run for the #2 seed, as The Leftovers outscored their opponents 25–8 across two games and knocked off the league's top seed when it mattered most. From an 11-run semifinal performance to an even bigger showing in the championship, they saved some of their best softball for the final night of the season.
