Friday night’s Beginner Volleyball playoffs at Clarke Dominguez Gym brought plenty of action, with five teams battling their way through the bracket for a shot at the championship!
The night started with a quarterfinal matchup between #4 Holy Blockamole and #5 Saved by the Net. Holy Blockamole came ready to play, sweeping the match 2–0 and earning themselves a spot in the semifinals against the top-seeded Hissy Fit. Their run would come to an end there, however, as #1 Hissy Fit showed why they earned the top seed, taking the semifinal 2–0 and punching their ticket to the championship.
On the other side of the bracket, #2 Anything But Net faced off against #3 Team B for the other spot in the finals. Team B wasn’t interested in letting the higher seed stand in their way, putting together a 2–0 sweep to knock out Anything But Net and set up a #1 vs. #3 championship showdown against Hissy Fit.
With the title on the line, Team B kept the momentum rolling! 🔥 They came out strong in the opening set and grabbed a 21–15 victory to move within one set of the championship. Hissy Fit wasn’t going away quietly, though, and the second set turned into a much tighter battle. With both teams fighting to extend their season, Team B managed to hold on down the stretch and close it out 21–19!
With the 2–0 championship victory, #3 Team B completed their playoff run and officially claimed the Friday Beginner Volleyball title! 🏆🏐 They had to go through the #2 seed and the #1 seed to get there, sweeping both matches along the way. Not a bad way to finish the season!
Congratulations to Team B, your Friday Beginner Volleyball Champions! 🎉🏆
