πŸ† FRIDAY NIGHT DOWNTOWN SOFTBALL – UPPER DIVISION CHAMPS: SWAMP DONKEYS! πŸ†

That’s a wrap on another Friday night of Downtown Softball at Roosevelt Park! The Upper Division playoffs featured the top four teams battling it out, and by the end of the night, we got exactly what we love to see... a #1 vs. #2 championship matchup with the title on the line. πŸ₯ŽπŸ”₯

The night started with #1 seed The Hit Squad taking on #4 Plan B in the first semifinal. The Hit Squad came into playoffs as the team to beat and certainly looked the part, putting together an impressive 11–1 victory to secure the first spot in the championship game.

The other semifinal was a completely different story. #2 Swamp Donkeys and #3 Crunchwrap Crows gave us the game of the night, battling all the way to the finish in an absolute nail-biter. Crunchwrap Crows gave one of the best teams in the division everything they could handle, but Swamp Donkeys managed to hold them off by just ONE run, escaping with a 9–8 victory. Huge shoutout to Crunchwrap Crows for a great season and an awesome playoff performance because you can't get much closer than that! πŸ‘

And just like that, the championship was set: #1 The Hit Squad vs. #2 Swamp Donkeys. πŸ‘€ The Hit Squad entered the final after a dominant semifinal performance, while Swamp Donkeys had just survived a one run battle to get there. With the top two seeds going head to head, it was the perfect way to decide the Upper Division championship.

Swamp Donkeys saved one of their best performances for when it mattered most. After allowing eight runs in their semifinal, their defense completely locked things down in the championship, holding the top seeded Hit Squad to just one run. Their offense did the rest, putting six on the board and securing a 6–1 victory to take home the title! πŸ†

From surviving a 9–8 semifinal thriller to knocking off the #1 seed in the championship, Swamp Donkeys absolutely earned this one. Congratulations to your Friday Night Downtown Upper Division Softball Champions, SWAMP DONKEYS! πŸ₯ŽπŸ†πŸΎ

Thank you to The Hit Squad, Crunchwrap Crows, Plan B, and everyone who joined us this season. We appreciate you spending your Friday nights out at Roosevelt Park with us, and we hope to see everyone back on the field next season! πŸ’™

πŸ† FRIDAY NIGHT MIDTOWN SOFTBALL – LOWER DIVISION CHAMPS: BALL TILL WE FALL! πŸ†

That’s a wrap on our Friday Night Midtown Softball season at Grant Park! πŸ₯Ž The Lower Division playoffs brought us some seriously close games, a championship run from the #3 seed, and ultimately the top seed proving exactly why they earned that #1 spot!

The night kicked off with #2 Quokkas taking on #3 Atletico Sacramento 3.0, and right away we had ourselves a playoff battle. With neither team giving the other much room to work with, Atletico Sacramento managed to come out on top by the narrowest of margins, taking the 3–2 victory and becoming the first team to punch their ticket to the championship. A one run playoff loss is always a tough way to go out, but huge props to Quokkas for battling until the very end and putting together a great season! πŸ‘

Next up, #1 Ball Till We Fall faced #4 Sac Bunts and Flies, and the top seed wasted no time showing why they came into the night at the top of the bracket. Ball Till We Fall put together a huge offensive performance, scoring 12 runs on their way to a 12–2 semifinal victory and setting up a #1 vs. #3 championship matchup.

That brought us to the final game of the season: Ball Till We Fall vs. Atletico Sacramento 3.0 with the Midtown Lower Division title on the line. πŸ”₯ After cruising through their semifinal, Ball Till We Fall suddenly found themselves in a completely different kind of game. Atletico Sacramento had already survived one one run battle that night, and they nearly pulled off another one against the division's top seed.

This championship went right down to the wire, but when the dust settled, Ball Till We Fall held on for a 5–4 victory! Just ONE run separated the two teams, with Ball Till We Fall completing their playoff night with two wins and officially turning their #1 seed into a championship! πŸ†

Major shoutout to Atletico Sacramento 3.0 as well... knocking off the #2 seed and then coming within a single run of taking down the #1 seed is one heck of a playoff run. But in the end, the top dogs held their ground!

Congratulations to BALL TILL WE FALL, your Friday Night Midtown Division Softball Champions! πŸ₯ŽπŸ†πŸΎ A 12 run semifinal performance followed by a one run championship thriller is a pretty great way to close out the season!

Thank you to Atletico Sacramento 3.0, Quokkas, Sac Bunts and Flies, and everyone who joined us at Grant Park this season. We appreciate you spending your Friday nights with us, and we hope to see everyone back out on the field next season!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
