Nine teams entered the Monday Night Party Pickleball playoffs at Elks Lodge #6, but after two weeks of best of nine battles, only one was left standing! #1 seed Dink and Drive lived up to their top billing, surviving three incredibly close matches to officially claim the Monday night crown.
With all nine teams making the postseason, #8 Kitchen Nightmares and #9 Dill With It kicked things off in Round 1. Kitchen Nightmares earned their spot in the quarterfinals with a 6-3 victory, setting up a matchup with top seeded Dink and Drive. That one came down to the very last point, with Dink and Drive escaping 5-4. Elsewhere in the quarterfinals, #5 Dinktators upset #4 Twerkin' Gherkins 7-2, #2 Dispickleball Me handled #7 The Big Dill 7-2, and #3 Effers cruised past #6 Chips and Dinks 8-1 to round out the final four.
The semifinals brought even more drama for the #1 seed. Dinktators continued to make some noise after their first round upset and pushed Dink and Drive all the way to the ninth and deciding point. For the second straight round, Dink and Drive pulled out a 5-4 victory to advance. On the other side of the bracket, #2 Dispickleball Me was dominant, taking down #3 Effers 8-1 and setting up exactly what the bracket had been building toward: #1 vs. #2 for the championship.
And naturally, nine games still weren't enough to create any breathing room between the league's top two seeds! Dink and Drive and Dispickleball Me traded games throughout the championship match until everything came down to the final point of the season. For the third consecutive round, Dink and Drive found themselves in a 5-4 battle and for the third consecutive time, they came out on top. Dink and Drive defeated Dispickleball Me 5-4, completing a perfect playoff run and earning the Monday Night Party Pickleball Championship! 🏆
