Fitting or ironic, take your pick: a team called Just Missed closed out our Wednesday Bowling league (Summer '26) by missing nothing at all, capping a perfect regular season with a championship win in their final matchup.
Rather than a traditional single-elimination bracket, Xoso's bowling league wraps its season with Position Week — every team plays the opponent matching its mirror seed (1v2, 3v4, 5v6, and so on), turning the final night into a league-wide finale where every match means something. With the No. 1 seed all season, Just Missed earned the top matchup: a head-to-head finale against No. 2 seed Straight Outta The GUTTER for the championship.
Just Missed entered Position Week having not lost a single match all season, and they made sure that stayed true when it counted most, topping Straight Outta The GUTTER 9-6 to claim the title outright.
It was a tighter finish than some of their earlier blowouts — Just Missed had cruised through parts of the season with dominant 14-1 and 15-0 wins — but the team got the job done exactly when the stakes were highest.
Just Missed finished the regular season a perfect 7-0, never dropping a match on the way to the top seed, and closed the season exactly how a No. 1 seed should: beating the No. 2 team for the crown.
