Sunday night softball at Grant Park wrapped up with the top seed taking care of business, as #1 ALL IN capped off their season with a championship! The four team playoff field featured #1 ALL IN, #2 Gavin Newsom’s Goons, #3 Titans, and #4 Base Invaders, with ALL IN entering the night as the team to beat and they proved exactly why.
The semifinals started with #1 ALL IN taking on #4 Base Invaders, and the top seed wasted no time punching its ticket to the championship. ALL IN put together an impressive performance on both sides of the ball, cruising to an 11-1 victory. On the other side of the bracket, #2 Gavin Newsom’s Goons were scheduled to face #3 Titans, but a forfeit sent the Titans through to the championship and set up a #1 vs. #3 showdown for the title.
The championship game was a completely different story for ALL IN. The #3 Titans gave the top seed everything they could handle, turning the final into a one run battle. After rolling through their semifinal, ALL IN had to fight until the very end, but they held on for a 6-5 victory to officially claim the Sunday night championship! The Titans may have entered the playoffs as the #3 seed, but they made ALL IN earn every bit of that trophy.
There were some defensive gems throughout the playoff action as well, including an incredible night from Akeem. He made a diving catch on a liner at second base, and later showed off the awareness again when a line drive popped out of Dom’s glove and Akeem snagged it and fired to first to complete the double play! 🔥🧤
Congratulations to #1 ALL IN on finishing the job and taking home the Sunday Night Softball championship at Grant Park! 🏆🥎 Going from an 11-1 semifinal win to a nail biting 6-5 championship victory, they showed they could win in more ways than one. Congrats to the Titans on a great playoff run as well, and thank you to all four teams for another great season at Grant Park!
