The Monday Intermediate/Advanced 4’s Sand Volleyball season wrapped up at Howe Park with an absolute thriller, as #1 Return To Sushi survived a three set battle against #3 DIRTY FEET to take home the championship! 🏐🏆
Return To Sushi entered playoffs as the top seed and wasted no time showing why. In the semifinals, they matched up with #4 Chambong Ballerz and punched their ticket to the championship with a convincing 2-0 sweep. On the other court, things were much tighter. #2 Scramblers and #3 DIRTY FEET went the distance, with DIRTY FEET pulling off the upset 2-1 to earn their spot in the finals.
That set up a championship matchup between #1 and #3, and it turned into one of the closest finishes you could ask for! Return To Sushi came out firing, taking the opening set 21-11, but DIRTY FEET wasn't going away quietly. They battled back in the second set and squeaked out a 21-19 victory, forcing a winner take all third set with the championship on the line.
And that final set DELIVERED. Neither team could create any separation, pushing the game beyond 21 as they traded points down the stretch. With everything tied up and the championship hanging in the balance, Return To Sushi finally closed it out 22-20, winning the match 2-1 and officially claiming the Monday Intermediate/Advanced 4’s Sand Volleyball title! 🔥
A huge congratulations to Return To Sushi on finishing their run as the #1 seed with a championship, and major props to DIRTY FEET for an incredible playoff run and taking the champs all the way to the final two point margin. 22-20 for the title?!
