Wednesday night’s Beginner Volleyball playoffs at Mather Sports Center belonged to the underdogs, as #3 seed Deez Volleyballs battled their way through the top two seeds in the bracket to claim the championship! 🏆
The night kicked off with the semifinals, where #1 Blockamole 2.0 took care of business against #4 That’s What She Set, earning a 2–0 victory and punching their ticket to the championship. On the other side of the bracket, #3 Deez Volleyballs came ready to make some noise, sweeping #2 Volley Maulers 2–0 to set up a showdown with the top seed.
The championship match was a battle from the start. Blockamole 2.0 came out strong and grabbed the opening set 21–14, putting Deez Volleyballs one set away from elimination. But the #3 seed wasn’t going anywhere. Deez answered by taking a tight second set 22–20, forcing a winner take all third set with the championship on the line. 🔥
With all the momentum behind them, Deez Volleyballs finished the job. They took the deciding set 21–13, completing the comeback and knocking off the #1 seed 2–1 to claim the Wednesday Night Beginner Volleyball championship! 👏
From the #3 seed to CHAMPS, Deez Volleyballs had to go through both the #2 and #1 seeds to get there and they did exactly that. A true underdog playoff run and one heck of a way to finish the season.
