Team Iceland Is Cool as Can Be

Our Summer 2014 Thursday Soccer league wrapped up last night as four strong teams took to the pitch with designs on a championship and bragging rights at stake.

In the opening semi final, #2 seed Team International took it to veteran team #3 seed Plan B from the outset and never looked back capturing a 4-1 victory and securing their spot in the finals. In the second semi final, #1 seed Team Iceland looked every bit as strong as their seed suggested running over #4 seed White Rushin' en route to the final showdown that the world had been clamoring for.

Team Iceland and Team International met in week one of the regular season with Team International winning a tough 2-1 contest. Both teams knew a rematch was likely in store and all eyes were on the pitch as the two powerhouses jousted for the championship.

Team Iceland displayed an array of skillful passes and strategy jumping out to a 4-1 halftime lead in a chippy game filled with yellow cards. They built upon that lead in the second half winning by a final of 8-2 behind 4 goals scored on headers.

Congratulations to Team Iceland and to all of the teams that competed in a great soccer season.

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
