Ultimate - Wednesdays (Fall '25)

It was a perfect night under the lights at Grant Park for our Wednesday Ultimate Frisbee Championship, where the season all came down to one climactic matchup: 1 vs 2 in Position Week, with everything on the line. In the end, Light the Frisbeam rose above the pressure, finishing off a strong season to claim the title.

All year, Light the Frisbeam showed they were the team to beat. They started the season with early statement wins, including a confident 12–3 victory over Team B, followed by a gritty 8–9 loss against Phoong Around and Find Out, where they held the top seed despite one of the closest matchups of the season. Even the week of Halloween, they kept their momentum alive with a controlled 6–3 win over C U Next Wednesday, demonstrating steady throws and a calm, veteran tempo that carried throughout the season.

Their dominance hit another level in November. With a doubleheader week, Light the Frisbeam swept the night with back-to-back strong performances: a 13–7 win over Team B and a tough 12–7 victory over Huckuna Matata. Those games showed exactly what makes this team so good... quick transitions, smart spacing, and the ability to punish teams on turnover opportunities.

So when Position Week arrived, it felt fitting that the championship would be settled head-to-head between the top two squads. The final showdown delivered everything you expect from title caliber Ultimate: long points, tight defense, and momentum swings that kept the sidelines fired up. Phoong Around and Find Out pushed hard with a late scoring run, but Light the Frisbeam held their composure and closed it out with an 8–7 win to lock in the championship. It was scrappy, fast-paced, and absolutely worthy of a #1 vs #2 finish.
