Kru-Tang Clan

First Place

Ultimate - Wednesdays (Late Summer '26)

The Wednesday Night Ultimate Frisbee season at Grant Park officially came to an end on October 14, and what a season it was for Kru-Tang Clan! After weeks of impressive performances, dominant victories, and some seriously competitive matchups, the league's top team entered Position Week with one final mission: finish what they started and bring home the championship! With the #1 and #2 seeds facing off for the title, Kru-Tang Clan had one last obstacle standing in their way: Back in Pink, a team that had been chasing them all season long!

From the very beginning, Kru-Tang Clan established themselves as the team to beat. They opened their season with a convincing 13-5 victory over Team B on August 26, setting the tone for what would become an incredible run. The following week, they delivered one of their most dominant performances of the season, shutting out Incredible Hucks 15-0! But they weren't finished there. Kru-Tang Clan continued piling up wins, defeating Frisbeers 15-5 and TBD 9-7 over the next two weeks. Whether they were blowing teams out or grinding through close contests, this squad consistently found ways to come out on top!

As the season progressed, Kru-Tang Clan faced some tougher competition, particularly from fellow championship contender Back in Pink. Their September 23 matchup gave everyone a preview of what was to come, with Kru-Tang Clan earning a hard-fought 15-11 victory. They followed that up with a narrow 9-7 win over Frisbeers before closing out the regular season in spectacular fashion with a commanding 15-4 victory over TBD on October 7. Seven regular season games, seven victories, and an undefeated record heading into the championship! Kru-Tang Clan had officially earned their place at the top of the standings, but there was still one game left to determine who would walk away with the title.

The championship showdown on October 14 brought the top two seeds together for one final battle, and Back in Pink was determined to spoil Kru-Tang Clan's perfect season! Unlike some of their earlier matchups, this one was an absolute nail-biter from start to finish. Back in Pink pushed the undefeated leaders to their limits, refusing to let the championship slip away without a fight. With every point carrying championship implications, Kru-Tang Clan had to dig deep and find a way to finish the job. When the dust finally settled, Kru-Tang Clan escaped with a thrilling 12-11 victory, securing the championship by just ONE point! A special shoutout to Cassidy D, who earned Player of the Game honors in the championship showdown! Talk about stepping up when it matters most!

With that final victory, Kru-Tang Clan completed a PERFECT 8-0 season, outscoring their opponents 103-46 along the way! From their dominant early season performances to their one point championship thriller, this team proved they could win in just about every situation. They didn't just finish at the top of the standings; they defended that position when everything was on the line!

A HUGE congratulations to Kru-Tang Clan, our Wednesday Night Ultimate Frisbee Champions! 🏆🥏 An undefeated season, eight straight victories, and a championship to top it all off... it doesn't get much better than that! Shoutout to Back in Pink for an outstanding season and for making the championship one of the closest games of the year. Thank you to all six teams for bringing the competition, energy, and spirit to Grant Park each week. Until next season, keep those discs flying and those hucks coming!
