"Chicken Fried Corn" remained the lone survivor in our Friday Cornhole league at Alley Katz emerging from a playoff bracket featuring a number of talented teams.
"Chicken Fried Corn" entered the night as our #3 seed, so it's not like they were a long-shot to win it all. They came out strong in the first two matches by defeating their opponents by a score of 6-0 to sweep their way to the finals. In that second round our eventual champs took on #7 seeded team "Shucking Amazing" rather than the #2 seeded "Mothershuckers" after an upset. That certainly made things a bit easier for "Chicken Fried Corn".
On the other half of the bracket the favorite to win it all, "Unprotected Sacks" also went 6-0 and swept the 4th and 8th seeds on their way to the finals.
Earlier in the season "Chicken Fried Corn" lost to their finals opponent, so this we certainly a great time for some revenge.
In the finals vengeance was theirs as "Chicken Fried Corn" went on to win by the final of 3-1 as they defeated the top seed. No doubt "Unprotected Sacks" will be disappointed with the loss, and next season they will be looking to return the favor.
Once again, congrats to "Chicken Fried Corn" and we look forward to seeing them defend their title in our upcoming league!
