Rocklin, CA — The Beginner Division of our Rocklin Pickleball Wednesday night season came down to the two best teams in the league, and it took every bit of the finals to separate them. The Pickle Polishers outlasted Line cooks 2.0 in a 2-1 nail-biter to claim the championship.
Both finalists entered the playoffs locked in a virtual tie atop the standings. The Pickle Polishers finished the regular season 19-2, with Line cooks 2.0 right there at 19-2 as well, separated only by a slim point-differential edge that gave The Pickle Polishers the No. 1 seed. As the No. 2 seed, Line cooks 2.0 opened the playoffs with a 2-0 sweep of Rally Cats in the quarterfinals, then took down DAVE 2-1 in the semis to reach the final. The Pickle Polishers took a similar road, sweeping Team A 2-0 in the quarters before topping DINKIN and Drivin 2-0 in the semifinals.
The two league heavyweights met in the final exactly as the seeding promised, and it lived up to the billing! The Pickle Polishers came out on top 2-1 to take the Beginner Division crown.
Congratulations to The Pickle Polishers on the championship, and to Line cooks 2.0 on a heck of a season. Thanks to everyone who came out to dink with us. See you next season!
