Volleyball - Intermediate Sundays (Summer '26)

The top four teams hit the court Sunday afternoon at Turn Verein for our Intermediate Volleyball playoffs, and once again, the bracket had a few surprises in store! 👀 With four teams fighting for the title, it was the #4 seed Dighausen who decided seeding was merely a suggestion.

The afternoon started with #1 ACE-Inhibitors taking on #4 Dighausen in the first semifinal. Dighausen wasted absolutely no time playing spoiler, taking down the top seed in straight sets, 2-0, and securing their spot in the championship! On the other side of the bracket, #2 Fire Ferrets faced #3 Block Party and put together a strong performance of their own, also earning a 2-0 victory to advance.

That set the stage for a championship matchup between #4 Dighausen and #2 Fire Ferrets and Dighausen was clearly not finished with their underdog run. 🔥 They came out strong in the opening set and grabbed the early advantage with a convincing 21-12 win, putting themselves just one set away from the title.

But Fire Ferrets weren’t about to let them have it that easily! The second set turned into an absolute battle, with both teams fighting point for point and Dighausen looking to close it out while Fire Ferrets fought to force a third. Regulation points weren’t enough for this one, and the set kept going until Dighausen FINALLY managed to grab the two point advantage they needed, winning an incredibly close 22-20 thriller! 😮‍💨👏

With that final point, the #4 seed completed the upset run and officially became Sunday Intermediate Volleyball Champions! 🥇🏆
