"Fifty Shades of Green" is our Flip Cup Tournament champion after an epic championship match after reaching the finals at the top team from the loser's bracket. They were tasked with having to defeat the lone team from the winner's bracket, "Hootie and the Blowholes" twice because of the double elimination format. They proved they were up to the challenge.
The start of the tournament wasn't all green pastures for "Fifty Shades of Green" as they lost their first game of the afternoon by the score of 6-3 to "Champalampions".
But, after that game "Fifty Shades of Green" got hot and started climbing their way through the loser's bracket with win after win after win. Eventually they would meet "Champalampions" in a rematch of their first game of the tournament. This time our eventual champions took down their tournament rival pretty handily with a strong 6-1 win.
In the winner's half of the bracket "Hootie and the Blowholes" were blowing out their competition. They had 1 game go all the way to an 11th game, but other than that they were knocking out opponents in 6-7 games.
In the first match of the finals "Fifty Shades of Green" got off to another fast start by getting out to great lead, but not before "Hootie and the Blowholes" made it interesting by grabbing a few wins in a row. However, "Fifty Shades of Green" closed out strong to take the first game 6-3, forcing a second match in our championship.
In that second match it was all "Fifty Shades of Green" as they went on to win 6-1 thanks to some fantastic flipping from their whole team.
Once again, congrats to "Fifty Shades of Green" for taking home the title in our 7th Annual Flip Cup Tournament!
