"Cornography" is our inaugural Thursday Night Cornhole champion at Sactown Union thanks to a couple of great games last night in the playoffs. The title win marks their second-straight Thursday night championship, and will be making a bid for a three-peat in our upcoming season.
The night started off with a couple of expected wins as "The Bad Guys" and "The uniCorns" both took care of business in the first round of the playoffs. Both would be stopped dead in their tracks, however, as our top two regular season teams would earn spots in the finals following their first round byes.
"Dirty Sacks, Sweaty Bags" didn't have it as easy as their finals couterpart though, eeking out a 3-2 win in five games. "Cornography" looked true to form early in their 3-1 semifinals win over "The uniCorns".
Despite the top two teams from the regular season making the championship, there was a clear favorite in "Cornography" thanks in part to a 4-0 dismantlting of "Dirty Sacks, Sweaty Bags" just the week before. That plus the hunger for a second straight title meant that there would be quite an uphill battle for our challengers, and one they could not overcome. Once again "Cornography" was just too good, and won the title convincingly by the score of 3-1.
Congrats to "Cornography" on their second title in a row, we can't wait to see what they have in store for next season!
