"Where My Pitches At" is our Wednesday Softball League champion following a dominant offensive night in the playoffs. Their bats got hot and stayed that way, picking up double-digit runs in both their wins last night on their way to being named champion.
The night started off with "Where My Pitches At", the top ranked team from the regular season, taking on "We Got the Runs". "We Got the Runs" hung tight for a couple of innings, but "Where My Pitches At" was just too good and blew it open in the latter innings with an offensive onslaught, securing their championship bid.
In our second game of the night "Scared Hitless" took on "Playerz Gone Wild". "Scared Hitless" had a big first inning, then got locked into a defensive battle. Eventually "Playerz Gone Wild" would rally in the last inning despite being down quite a few runs, but they fell a bit short as the deficit was just to big for them to make up. In the end it was a 13-9 win for "Scared Hitless", sending them to the championship game.
In the championship game "Where My Pitches At" chipped and gnawed through a defensive battle for the first few innings, eventually building a commanding lead through five innings. "Scared Hitless" tried to answer offensively with a few innings that had promise, but they were cut short thanks to a great defensive effort by "Where My Pitches At". In the end their deadly combo of good defense and an even better offense led to the championship win.
Congratulations to "Where My Pitches At" on another great season! If not for a loss in the final game of the regular season, they would have had a perfect record. Still, 9-1 overall is nothing to scoff at. Once again, congratulations!
