Who says adults can't have recess?

The Spring 2012 outdoor kickball season came to an end on Sunday. The championship game featured the Alcoballics, in their first season, versus the veteran Red Rockets. The Alcoballics were easily the most improved team having won their last 5 games going into the championship. While the Red Rockets were looking to finish the spring perfect, sending longtime Xoso-er Matt Kelly off with a championship in his last season before moving away. The Alcobollics, attempting to avenge two early season losses to the Red Rockets, struck first for a run in the top of the 1st.

On Sunday, our top three kickball teams battled to see which team would reign supreme. The answer: Doggie Style!

The #2 seeded Doggie Style first had to face "From the Windows to the Ball" (FWB). FWB came in as the #3 seed, with the same record (5-3) as Doggie Style. In fact, the two teams had met twice during the regular season, with Doggie Style winning the week one showdown 6-0, and FWB winning week five's game 3-2. This time the winner would get to move on to the championship game, against the #1 team, "All the Way In".

Thanks to everyone for another fantastic Xoso Kickball season!

Tonight we had our playoffs, and it showcased the top three teams of the season, and some interviews with Fox40 evening news. That's right, playing Xoso Kickball can make you famous!

Last spring, Just the Tip rolled through the season undefeated, and lost to the team now known as "All the Way In" in the first round of the playoffs. "All the Way In" went on to win the Spring Championship.

In the fall season, Just the Tip got revenge and won the title. This season, the script was flipped. "All the Way In" cruised to an undefeated regular season, and Just the Tip finished with one loss.

After rolling through the spring season undefeated, "Just the Tip" was ousted from the playoffs by the then named "My Balls want to Come in your Diamond" in the 6th and final inning. "My Balls want to Come in your Diamond" went on to win the spring championship.

This season was shaping up as a repeat, with "Just the Tip" again cruising through the competition and finishing the season as the only undefeated team. "My Balls want to Come in your Diamond" now known as "I Kicked a Ball and I Liked it" ended in 2nd place with two losses, one of which was to "Just the Tip" in week one.

XOSO's spring kickball season had to end sooner or later, and yesterday it finally did.

Four teams reached the playoffs this season: The undefeated "Just the Tip", "Ball Busters", "Drunk Again and Looking to Score", and "My Balls Want to Come in Your Diamond".

Unfortunately for a few teams, yesterday also wrapped up the US OPEN, and more than one key player was absent from their team's playoff run because they were watching Tiger on the links.

As summer comes to a close, so did our summer kickball season. In the tightest standings race we've ever had, four teams had a shot at the championship game on the final day of the season.

In the end, the "Kick Backs" (green), in first place for most of the season, faced "You're My Boy Blue" (blue team) in the championship game. In two previous meetings this season, the two teams each came away with one win and one loss, so this was a much anticipated redemption game.

Congratulations to the Kick Backs on remaining undefeated throughout the season and through the playoffs. We had another great season of outdoor kickball! In the playoff games today, the Kick Backs downed the Drinkers with a Kicking Problem in the first game, then relaxed and scoped out the competition in the 2nd game.

On the final day of our kickball season, NKOTB beat Kickin' Balls and Takin' Names to stay undefeated before their championship game against I'd Kick That.

Last season, you may remember, NKOTB went undefeated before choking in the championship and losing to Kickin' Balls and Takin' Names. Hoping to avoid a repeat this season, they came in with their perfect record and reputations on the line.

After two narrow defeats earlier in the season, Kickin Balls 'n' Takin Names won a close one in extra innings to defeat the previously undefeated New Kids on the Balls.

KBnTN was up by one or two runs most of the game, but the NKOTB wouldn't let them pull away. NKOTB managed to rally and tie the score at 3 in the bottom of the 5th inning and, after a scoreless 6th, we went to extra innings to decide the league champion...
