Xoso Flip Cup Tournament - October 2011

10/22/2011 - 1:00pm Since the last Flip Cup tourney went so well, we've decided to do two per year. Since it's been almost six months since the last one, guess what that means?
XOSO's 3rd Flip Cup tourney is just around the corner so start recruiting and scouting the competition now. Can anyone knock off the two time defending champions? Remember, it's a double elimination tournament, so if you have a bad match, your team gets a shot at redemption.

Cost: $20 per person; teams of 6
Location: Blue Cue (28th and J Street)
Game: Flip Cup
1st Place Team Prize (per player): Xoso VIP Card, $10 Blue Cue gift cards, Chipotle BOGO cards, Discounted Xoso league
2nd Place Team Prize: Chipotle Burrito for each player

Bounced checks are subject to a $25 service charge up to treble the amount of the check pursuant to California Civic Code 1719.
Game Rules
- Teams of 6 players
- Each team lines up on one side of the table to start the match.
- Each cup must be filled to the first line (roughly one inch high).
- Game starts with a courtesy clink with your opposing partner (person across the table).
- First player must clink, then drink. After finishing the drink, the cup must be placed on the edge of the table, mouth-side up. Cup will be flipped until it lands mouth side down.
- Player may flip with one hand only, but may use the other hand to balance the cup on the table edge while initiating the flip, or to retrieve an unsuccessful flip.
- The next player in the relay MAY NOT touch their cup until the previous player's cup is completely settled.
- All 6 players must drink and flip.
- First full team to complete the relay wins the game. If the last cup for both teams settles at the same time it's a do over.
- First team to 6 wins moves on. (Best of 11)
- If a player spills or pours out an excessive amount of beer they must start over (not counting slight dribbles).
Other Rules
All participants MUST be at least 21 years old to participate. IDs will be checked by the bar.
No refunds for any reason.
Registration fee covers tournament entry and free Coors Light or Bud Light during tournament games.
XOSO will allow (and encourage) water to be substituted for beer during the tournament at the participant's discretion.
Players may not bring their own beverages or cups to the tournament.
All 6 players must drink and flip. No substitutions. Incomplete teams will be disqualified unless the team receives specific permission from XOSO. Pace yourself!
Players may not drink/consume/imbibe another player's beverages at any time during the tournament.
Players must follow all directions/rules/instructions from XOSO, its staff/volunteers, and the venue's staff at all times or they may be disqualified from the tournament and removed from the venue. XOSO reserves the right to disqualify or remove any player at any time for disorderly conduct.
All disputes, conflicts, and questions will be decided by XOSO, it's staff/volunteers, sponsors, or venues and shall be binding by the participants without appeal. All decisions made are final.
Any inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to, offensive language, misconduct, or physical contact between participants may result in immediate expulsion from the bar and/or tournament at the sole discretion of XOSO or the venue.
