Who says adults can't have recess?

Congratulations to Spare Balls on their first place finish! They wrapped up our first season at Land Park Lanes in style, and far ahead of the 2nd place Fongtastic team.

The top male bowler was Jason Marks and the top female was Melissa Parker, who had her best game on the final night of the season.

We had many winners from the Turkey Raffle, and we had fun drawing all those names!

Congrats to all the winners, and all the bowlers on a great season. Next season registration ends next Tuesday, 12/20/2011, so we hope to see you out on the lanes after the holidays!

Sacramento, CA - In a surprising turn of events, Chocolate Salty Balls emerged as the Fall 2011 Recess League champions with a tense 2-1 volleyball victory over previously undefeated Green Dogs and Spam. CSB entered week 8 of the regular season in 4th place but was able to leapfrog over UR FIRED and Drexel Dragons into 2nd place by winning their final week matchup while the other playoff contenders lost.

On Sunday, we concluded the inaugural season of Xoso Coed Softball.

As we've all heard when it comes to the playoffs... anything can happen. On Sunday, "anything" did.

Yesterday Xoso hosted our third flip cup tournament, and privately wondered if anyone would be able to knock off the defending champions.

Coming back with a third different lineup in three tournaments, the newly renamed "The Outie Vaginas" managed to keep their track record intact, and in more dominating fashion than ever before.

The top-seeded Vatican Assassins won their third Recess League championship with a 21-13, 21-15 volleyball win over the Rabid Dogs in the final round of a four-team playoff.

On Sunday night, Xoso concluded it's fourth Recess League! The Vatican Assassin Warlocks, previously known as the Red Rover Rangers, were coming off an undefeated season, AND two consecutive Recess League titles. They were going for a Xoso record three straight championships in one sport . . . and they were close to getting to the title again.

By Becca Costello

Don’t be startled by the rapid-fire popping noises emanating from the Alkali Flat Boys and Girls Club. What sounds like athletic Armageddon is only the echo of Sacramento’s fastest-growing sport: dodgeball.
